About Us

Gisonni & Harms was formed in April 2004 by Eve-Lynn Gisonni and Richard Harms.  Located in Woodbury, New York, the law firm is dedicated to providing personal service for the legal needs of our clients.  The firm seeks to understand and respond to each of our client’s individual needs and provide clients with timely service and reliability.  Eve-Lynn and Richard bring a combined 50 years of legal, insurance and lifetime experience to the practice. 

Prior to joining forces with Eve-Lynn,  Richard effectively served as a top notch litigator for several large and highly-esteemed litigation firms.  Richard successfully took numerous cases to verdict and appeal.  Since Richard graduated from law school, he has helped  numerous individuals and families plan their estates, assisted them with the purchase and sale of their homes, provided legal advice for individuals and businesses alike, and prosecuted personal injury lawsuits.  Richard has also helped clients in the purchase and sale of their businesses, and helped negotiate contracts, leases and various employment agreements.

Prior to forming Gisonni  & Harms, Eve-Lynn served as an aggressive litigator and counselor championing the rights of individuals against their insurance companies, concentrating in the area of disability and life insurance.

Both Eve-Lynn and Richard demonstrated their unwavering work ethic by working full-time while they attended Long Island's Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in the evenings.  Together they bring this same hard working mentality to their practice.  Richard's prior experience includes serving as an insurance underwriter for several nationally-known commercial insurance carriers, as well as getting hands-on experience at a number of fast-paced law firms.  Eve-Lynn's prior work experience includes working as a paralegal for law firms practicing in the areas of personal injury, estate planning, and insurance coverage litigation for policyholders. 

Richard is admitted to practice law in New York State, the United States District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.  Richard is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Suffolk County Bar Association, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and a former member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.

Eve-Lynn is admitted to practice law in New York State, the United States District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second  Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.  She is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the Long Island Center for Business and Professional Women.
